How it works

A safe, supported pathway — not just a prescription

01

GP consultation & eligibility

A full medical assessment with a GMC-registered GP — your health history, medications, BMI and goals. We confirm whether a medical weight-loss programme is clinically appropriate and safe for you.

02

Your personalised plan

If suitable, your GP creates a treatment plan. Where clinically indicated this may include a GLP-1/GIP weight-loss injection (such as tirzepatide), alongside nutrition and lifestyle guidance.

03

Dose titration & monitoring

We start low and increase gradually to manage side effects, with regular check-ins to track progress, weight, and wellbeing — adjusting your plan as you go.

04

Review & long-term maintenance

Sustainable results come from more than medication. We help you build the habits to maintain your progress, with clinical review at every stage.

What's included

Whole-person care, under one roof

Because we're a full GP and diagnostics clinic, your weight-loss care can connect to bloods, cardiac checks and physiotherapy when it helps — not treated in isolation.

GP-led assessment

Every programme begins and continues with a doctor — not an online form. Full history, eligibility and safety screening included.

Clinically prescribed treatment

Where appropriate, prescription weight-loss medication is provided and supervised by your GP, with genuine aftercare.

Dose management

Structured titration to minimise side effects, with your clinician contactable if anything changes.

Bloods & health checks

Optional baseline and follow-up bloods, blood pressure and cardiac checks for a complete picture of your health.

Nutrition & lifestyle support

Practical guidance on food, movement and habits so the results last beyond the medication.

Ongoing reviews

Regular clinical reviews to track progress and keep you safe, supported and on plan.

Is it right for you?

Who medical weight loss can help

Clinically supervised weight-loss treatment is generally considered for adults with:

  • A BMI of 30 or above, or
  • A BMI of 27 or above with a weight-related health condition (such as type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, or sleep apnoea).

It isn't suitable for everyone. Your eligibility, medical history and any contraindications are always confirmed during your consultation — that's why every programme is GP-led.

Not suitable for: anyone under 18, those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, and certain medical conditions. Your GP will discuss this with you.

Common questions

Weight-loss programme FAQs

How do weight-loss injections work?
GLP-1 (and GLP-1/GIP) medications work with your body's own appetite signals to reduce hunger and help you feel fuller for longer, making it easier to eat less. They're most effective alongside changes to diet and activity — which is why our programme includes lifestyle support, not just a prescription.
Is the treatment safe?
These are licensed medicines, but like all medication they carry possible side effects and aren't suitable for everyone. That's why every programme is GP-led, with full eligibility screening and ongoing monitoring. Your doctor will discuss the benefits and risks with you before you start.
What are the common side effects?
The most common effects are gastrointestinal — nausea, reduced appetite, or changes to digestion — usually mildest when starting and easing over time. Our gradual dose titration is designed to minimise these, and your clinician is available if you have concerns.
Do I need to be registered with you?
No. You can book an assessment as a new patient. With your consent we can also share a summary with your NHS GP for joined-up care.
Can I get this if I live elsewhere in the North West?
Yes. We're in Bamber Bridge, Preston — minutes from the M6/M65 — and care for patients across Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside and the wider North West. Many reviews can be done by phone or video around in-person checks.
Will medication definitely be prescribed?
Not automatically. Medication is only prescribed where it's clinically appropriate and safe for you. If it isn't, your GP will talk you through the alternatives — your safety comes first.
